Vernonia fasciculata is a tall purple flowering periennal from North America reaching 1.7m tall with its buds unfurling late August/September this adds some late colour to the back of the border. You wont see this splendid perennial in your neighbours garden. Vernonia fasciculata is drought tolerant and prefers full sun to partial shade.
